Aimless Blooming

This story begins approximately at 25. Suddenly, day by day we start to notice that the way we perceive life - changes. Perhaps for many, this period in life was a challenge, or a crisis that needed to be overcome. But not many people know that the reason for this is the maturation of the frontal cortex of the brain. Neurobiologs suggest that this part of the brain completes the process of brain formation. At this point humans reach their best functions that include processing of abstract concepts, setting goals, looking for behavioral options, suppressing automatic reactions and more. But if we look at the process happening with consciousness, we can notice only some tendency which is expressed in the fact that youthful courage and carelessness leaves us, and with them the feeling of safe apriori immortality so peculiar to young people.

And what’s in return? Obscurity. Facing the fact of one’s own duality.

One of the most common philosophical questions about man’s relationship with body and spirit gains depth when it concerns us personally. After all, man is dependent on the limitations of his body. But despite this, man wants to achieve something more than just the animal continuation of the species and reproduction.

A distinctive human need is the necessity to spiritualise human life, to translate it into the plane of the immortal, beyond the cycles of life and death. This abstraction idea is vital to maintain the meaning of one’s existence. So, whether we like it or not, each of us creates our own heroic way of avoiding death. The cycles of life are necessary for developing a talent, a unique gifts, perfecting ability to understand the world, expanding and sharpening appetite, learning to endure the disappointments of life, becoming mature, hardened - finally a unique being in nature, rising with dignity and nobility above his original animal state, no longer persecuted, no longer blindly obeyed to reflexes.

Even if the ordinary man lives in some oblivion in relation to his sense of anxiety, it is only because he needs to suppress the problem of life and death for himself. Maybe such a reaction of the psyche is just a hallucination under the influence of which one lives. If we assume that, then there’s only a biological process left and our life becomes a matter of limited time. At this point all we have is the experience of existence, a series of events we observe, reality that will pass as well as we do.
